Stop Using These 20 Medications Because They Cause Memory Loss
1. THE “ANTI” DRUGS
Every drug that begins with “anti” including antihypertensive, antibiotics, antispasmodic, antipsychotics, antihistamines or antidepressants will affect your acetylcholine level.
The main neurotransmitter involved in memory and learning is acetylcholine. In a case of low-level of acetylcholine, the following conditions may occur dementia, memory loss, hallucinations, blurred vision, mental confusion, and delirium.
2. SLEEPING PILLS
Sleeping pills can cause memory loss.
Ambien, this popular drug is also known as the amnesia drug because people who use it experience sleep driving, hallucinations, night terrors and sleep walking.
These sleeping pills can cause a condition similar to being in a coma or being drunk. People who use these pills do not experience the soothing sleep the brain needs in order to continue and repair itself.
However, there are many other natural ways to fall asleep.
3. STATIN DRUGS
Statin drugs are popular cholesterol-lowering drugs. They are one of the worst groups of drugs for your brain. They lead to memory loss.
One-quarter of your brain is composed of cholesterol. It is important for fast thinking, memory, and learning. These cholesterol-lowering drugs seriously affect the brain health.
