So you’ve realized that it’s time for some radical changes, and are down for drastic transformation. You’ll need all your courage and to be honest with yourself and others. Throw away anything that no longer feels good and start honoring your true self. If you truly love and respect yourself, you will never tolerate any of the following things that can potentially poison your life.
Below are nine impermissible acts for self-respecting people:
#1. Striving to please everyone
Just do what makes you happy and move on. Forget about trying to appear convincing to others. They will only torment you and find a thousand reasons why you should not follow your aspirations and convictions. Get over what others think, and do what you think is right and necessary instead. Any self-respecting person values their gut feelings towards others.
#2. Negative self-perception
If you want your reality to be more positive and energetic, your thoughts should move in that same direction and reflect it. With a negative self-image, you’ll see a gray and depressing world. A positive outlook on yourself will help you see endless possibilities and bliss. Self-respecting people nourish themselves with positive thoughts, relationships, careers and goals.
#3. Staying the same
The world seems pretty scary place, at a glance. That’s why most people will decide to stay in their comfort zone, their “safe house” for as long as possible to avoid any inconveniences. But you will never rise unless you try something new. Self-respecting people like to break boundaries to see if there are limits to their development potential.
#4. Attempts to fit in
Again, you cannot grow and learn if you’re following the main herd. To truly thrive, you must designate your own path and learn to trust your instincts rather than tired and exhausted opinions of others. Learn to feel comfortable in your own skin and truly trust your intuition. Only then you will see that the whole world is at your feet.
#5. Staying at a job that makes you want to die
Unfortunately, most people keep their hated jobs in order to pay bills. But you don’t have to become part of the statistics. You can leave the work that drains you and look for something that would really fill you with happiness. Self-respecting people delve deeper to find out what their soul desires. And then shamelessly follow this calling.
#6. Neglecting your health
No one else will take proper care of your health. If you feel like your mental, physical or emotional health is suffering, examine your life to see where some changes are due. Any self-respecting person puts his health first, because they know that they won’t be able to enjoy life to the fullest and showcase their best qualities if they’re not feeling well.
#7. Overly complex relationships
Friends or a partner who are trying to control every aspect of your life should definitely set off the alarms in your head. Don’t tolerate someone who wants to manipulate and control you. You deserve relationships that will improve your well-being and help you grow and learn. Simply put, if someone in your life is dragging you down with them, let them go. Self-respecting people don’t allow anyone but themselves to be in control of their lives.
Many of us have allowed our smartphones, tablets and computers to be our (often only) source of entertainment. We are losing motivation because it seems that it’s easier to sit in front of a computer screen than to go out into the real world to achieve something. Nevertheless, any self-respecting person will not allow themself to become complacent. They continue to work hard to achieve their goals.
#9. Overlooking happiness
Too many of us are ready to settle for less than what we deserve, simply because we do not appreciate themselves enough, or are too comfortable with and used to what we already have. However, any self-respecting person always chooses what makes them happy and does whatever is necessary to achieve happiness. Don’t impose any restrictions on your life. Magic is real.
